Hello fellow datahoarders,by mistake i formatted (quick) my nintendo wii sd card with WBFS filesystem and also put one new file on it (in my photo camera). I wonder which software is my best guess to try to get back the data. It´s not crucial, i think i have everything backed up somewhere. By just googling software i find only ad-bloated / sketchy / expensive / windows 3.11 installer files.Both Ubuntu or Windows recovery tools is fine. I remember having a good experience with photorec for sd cards with photos on it. Tl;dr: try the WIT tool first, it is specialized for recovering WBFS partitions and content.

It is available for linux, mac, windows.Just some docu for the ones in the future trying to do the same thing.Approach 1:sudo losetup -f -P disk.imglosetup -lphotorec disk.imgI could not get any files back here.Approach 2:i found a tool named WIT that allows for recovery of formatted WBFS partitions. I could successfully recover the partition, however the data was in the end so badly damaged that i could not get it working again.
