I have an HP Probook 4530si7, Win7, 8 GB RAM.On boot I get a message in the top left that says 'manufacturing program mode set: 'X' o 10(X being a number that started at 1 and has been climbing every now and then after booting.
Currently it's at 7)I then get a screen that says 'Product Information Not Valid' at the top(Large letters)'The following product information programmed into the system board is missing or invalid. SYSTEM BOARD(00A)Then it looks like it's showing me a place where there should be info -Product nameProduct S/NSKUBoard CT NumberAll of these are blank. It only makes sense that these should be programmed into the BIOS on board. Upek protector suite.
We purchased the top plastic piece that the keyboard sits on, contains the fingerprint reader, power button and touchpad. We replaced this because a user had physical damage to the power button to where it wasn't functional(smashed corner).I found info regarding an HP technician tool called HPBQ138.EXE, but it works on older machines. There is a tool for newer machines, but can't seem to locate a copy. Has anyone ran into this and found a fix? HP wants me to send it to them.
It's out of warranty, so I really don't want to do this. It's infuriating because this is proprietary HP garbage that if not configured the computer would work properly. Once you get past the errors the laptop boots and runs fine, but I can't assign it to someone with an error.
I'm really baffled to why it would lose this data. I never changed the board, only the plastic piece. The replacement did have the hardware and ribbons for the power button, fingerprint scanner, and touchpad. Anyone ever see this?.
