It's not written for Greyhawk specifically, though some people have fit it into Greyhawk. There's a nice (and very noncanonical) map that shows where the town might fit into the area.on the Doomsday message boards discusses some of the difficulties in reconciling the Yggsburgh material with the Greyhawk material. They aren't really a natural match, though they can be made to work together with some effort (as shown on the map I linked to above, and the artist's ).Basically you don't need Yggsburgh to run a Greyhawk campaign by any means but if it's Gygaxian genesis appeals to you, it can be made to work. Yggsburgh is smaller than Greyhawk, a town rather than a city.

It was designed (like Greyhawk) to be a base of operations for adventurers wanting to venture into the castle ruins, but (unlike Greyhawk) meant to be small enough to relatively painlessly fit into any campaign. That some of the locations from Gygax's classic Greyhawk campaign, including the Green Dragon Inn and the Striped Mage, made their way into Yggsburgh. I think it's important to note that it's not Greyhawk, though, and not intended to be (according to its author). It's a new setting.If you want to fit both Yggsburgh and Greyhawk into the same campaign, you'd have to decide which settlement the castle ruins are closest to. In the map above, the castle is just about midway between them.And I just found, a fan-made module meant to introduce the PCs to a version of the Yggsburgh setting that definitely exists in the World of Greyhawk.
